The Secret to a Great Festival Themed Party

Have you spent the last 2 weeks scrolling miserably through Coachella selfies? Us too.

But on the plus side, it has given us mountains of inspiration for festival inspired parties and weddings over the next few months…

While you may not have an army of event planners to call on or 12 months to prepare, here are a five fail safe tips for achieving that cool festival vibe at your next event.

Set the scene: If you are sick to death of bunting there are other ways to achieve your festival decorations – balloons are a great option and there are so many cool designs out there. We love these fluro ones from Bonbon Balloons but if you are short on time check out Ginger Ray’s collection of confetti balloons on ASOS.

Light up: If you are lucky enough to get a warm/dry evening make sure you make the most of it with some striking lighting. Coachella this year was all about neon and the pictures looked incredible! Make your own neon party with these cool make your own kits from Urban Outfitters.

Glitter! People can moan all they like but everyone LOVES glitter after a few drinks and at a festival, glitter is essential and a bit of dressing up is a fail safe way of getting everyone in the mood. If you are going all out then why not hire your own glitter bar (the guys at Glitter and Glo do an amazing job!) or if you are going more DIY then just set up a few cushions, mirrors and pots of glitter and gems (check out Karizma on Amazon). Just make sure you set it up a safe distance from any carpet because it will never come out.

Raise your glasses: Colourful glasses have a way of taking everyone back to being 16 again drinking from a plastic beaker and who doesn’t enjoy that. Give your glasses a bit more of a modern feel with these gorgeous cups from Oh Happy Day (oh and they will compliment your neon lighting beautifully).

Creative cocktails: Cocktails are a must at any festival and now you can create your own stunning creations worthy of any VIP area with the many cocktail ingredient sets out there. We particularly like the Paradise Island Rum Mix from Quai Sud.

Now you should really document the event too – the Fujifilm instax mini produces some really cool snaps and is delightfully compact. If you are looking for something to get your guests engaged then a GIF photo booth is always a great shout (but we would say that…)

We can’t promise you perfect sunshine or stunning Palm Springs views but with these small touches you can create a great festival vibe which will look stunning and set the scene for an awesome event.
